John Walsh, MA, MT-BC

John is a board certified music therapist who joined Connecticut Music Therapy Services in October 2011. He has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Williams Syndrome, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities; as well as working with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and substance abuse. John taught music education for five years in public and private schools throughout the state of Colorado and has performed with the Pikes Peak Philharmonic and the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra. He received a Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado and obtained a Master’s Degree in Music Education with a concentration in music therapy from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.
