Krista Simpson, MT-BC
Krista is a board certified music therapist who joined Connecticut Music Therapy Services in September 2011. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Therapy from The State University Of New York in New Paltz NY, and obtained her board certification in 2008. She has worked with children, teens, adults and older adults with a wide variety of diagnoses such as, autism spectrum disorders, visual and hearing impairments, learning disorders, neurological and congenital disorders, Angelman Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Physical and Developmentally Disabilities, behavioral and emotional needs, cancer, drug addiction, mental illness, Alzheimer’s, and dementia.
Additionally, she has 7 years teaching experience for Torrington’s Warner Theatre School For Arts and Education where she taught voice lessons and conducted songwriting classes. She is a performer and singer songwriter who has recorded several CDs on various projects. Krista’s versatile background benefits her clients in both traditional and artistic ways.
